Supported GPX and how to export from each service
Routovie reads GPX 1.1 files. It uses the track (<trk>) points; if they carry timestamps, the animation advances at your actual pace, otherwise at a constant rate. Export steps for common services:
- Strava: On the activity page (web) choose "…" → "Export GPX". The mobile app's share sheet has no GPX option, so open strava.com in Safari.
- Garmin Connect: On the web activity page, gear icon → "Export to GPX".
- Bike computers (Wahoo / Bryton / Lezyne etc.): Share FIT or GPX from the maker's app. If only FIT is offered, route it through Strava or similar to get GPX.
- RaceChrono: Session → Export → GPX. One file for the whole session is easiest.
- OBD NINJA: "Export GPX" from a drive log's detail screen (mobile v1.3.6+, free). The desktop app exports the same GPX.
- GoPro: GPS embedded in GoPro MP4s isn't GPX, so Routovie 1.0 can't read it directly. Convert with GoPro Quik or gopro-telemetry (reading MP4s directly is planned for a future version).
If a file won't open: files with fewer than two points, no coordinates, or only <rte> / <wpt> can't be used. Unzip archives before opening.
