Getting started: from GPX to video

Routovie turns the route in a GPX file into a smooth map animation (MP4). No account is needed, and everything happens on your device.

  1. Get a GPX fileExport one from Strava, Garmin Connect, a bike computer, RaceChrono, OBD NINJA or similar, and save it on your phone (see "Supported GPX and how to export from each service").
  2. Open it in RoutovieTap "Open GPX File" on the home screen, or pick Routovie from the Files app or the share sheet. "Try a sample" loads the bundled Izu route if you just want to look around.
  3. Check the routeRoutovie smooths GPS jumps and tunnel gaps automatically, then shows a preview with the settings.
  4. Choose settingsMap style (Liberty / Positron / Aerial), camera (Overview / Follow), duration, zoom and resolution. The preview updates as you change them.
  5. ExportTap "Export" to render the MP4 and save it to your photo library (allow access the first time). Use the share button to send it to social apps.

Tip: Routovie is free to use. Free exports carry a small "rendering by Routovie" watermark; a one-time purchase removes it.
